Concentration 12:

Fort Hayes AP Art Exhibition

The "Concentration Show" has been curated every year by the remarkable art teacher and Shot Tower Gallery director Teresa Weidenbusch (since 2009). Its been such a joy to host Teresa and her art students over the years and to provide a Short North Arts District venue along with a Public "Gallery Hop" Reception for young Columbus talent!

Advanced Placement sophomore, junior and senior high school art students are engaged in creating individual series of works throughout the school year, each concentrating on one specific chosen focus. This structured exercise helps students to have a cohesive body of work and a portfolio for those going on to choose art as a major or minor on the college level. Many students whom have created artworks exhibited in this annual show at Sean Christopher Gallery over the years (under the direction of Teresa Weidenbusch, longtime Fort Hayes art teacher and the school’s Shot Tower Gallery director) have gone on to receive scholarships to attend schools such as the Columbus College of Art & Design - CCAD, Maryland Institute College of Art - MICA, School of the Art Institute of Chicago - SAIC, and others.

Our Opening Reception for "Concentration 12" is Saturday evening, March 7, 6-10pm. Free and open admission to the public during the Short North's February Gallery Hop. Exhibit continues thru March 28 during regular open gallery hours and by appointment.
